Lackey & Miller, LLC represents clients from Camden County and throughout southern New Jersey in criminal defense matters.

Jeremy Lackey is a veteran criminal trial attorney who served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey before starting the firm Lackey & Miller, LLC. As an assistant prosecutor, Mr. Lackey prosecuted cases in both the Family Court – Juvenile Part and in the Adult Criminal Court. Mr. Lackey is a highly experienced trial attorney, having tried a vast array of criminal matters as a prosecutor, including Murder, Strict Liability for Drug Induced Death, Drug Possession and Distribution, Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Eluding, Resisting Arrest, Burglary, Theft, and Assault. Along with Mr. Lackey’s experience in all stages of an investigation and prosecution, he is one of only a limited number of criminal attorneys who has tried cases involving DNA evidence, ballistic and firearm examination, forensic extraction of electronic devices, toxicology and blood analysis, controlled dangerous substances analysis, and medical examiner testimony. Additionally, Mr. Lackey attended the Top Gun program, which is an intense training offered to New Jersey law enforcement on advanced techniques in drug investigations and search warrant executions. As a Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Lackey was assigned to the Gangs and Organized Crime Bureau, where he prosecuted multi-defendant complex cases including charges of Racketeering, Maintaining Drug Production Facilities, and Trafficking of Firearms, and worked on wiretap investigations.

After graduating from Rutgers University Law School, Mr. Lackey clerked for the Honorable E. David Millard, P.J. Civ. Div. (retired) in Ocean County Superior Court. As a prosecutor, Mr. Lackey instructed junior prosecutors at the New Jersey Advocacy Institute’s trial advocacy program in the areas of direct and cross-examination, witness preparation, and the introduction of evidence during a trial. Mr. Lackey is also an adjunct professor at Rowan College at Burlington County, where he has taught Introduction to Criminal Justice, Introduction to Court Systems, and Introduction to Private Security.
